Welcome to my practice. I hope that we will create a therapeutic relationship that will enhance your life and help you solve whatever problems you may be having. I will treat you with respect and acceptance and always assume that you know best what problems need to be addressed.
I am primarily a Reality Therapist. Briefly, that means that I help you achieve life behaviors that contribute to healthy relationships and satisfy the most important needs in your life, hopefully gaining more insight into yourself as we work toward that goal. I am generally interested in helping you with situations and problems in the present. Though if something has occurred in the past that is impacting you in the present, we will examine it for insight. If you want to know more about this orientation, you are welcome to read Choice Theory, by William Glasser.
I also use cognitive behavioral interventions, especially for anxiety and mood problems. I find that many problems can be solved fairly quickly, and I work to do so—always respecting your time and financial resources.
I respect all races, cultures, religious orientations and sexual orientations.
Often, I find, that problems have a spiritual component, and will respectfully try to help with that part of the issue.
I work with all age groups, individuals, couples, families, and a wide variety of issues, including, but not limited to: mood disorders, addictions, anxiety, parenting issues, stress, workplace problems, sexual orientation issues, and relationship problems of all types.
