A counselor for over twenty-five years in the Orlando area, Bill Brislin enjoys helping individuals reach their highest potential by removing obstacles to growth and healing. He has extensive experience with anxiety, depression, loss, transition, trauma, and sexual abuse.
Bill Brislin, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), is a certified EMDR therapist, trained to practice clinical hypnosis, and experienced as a clinical supervisor for counseling interns. Additionally, he is a National Certified Counselor and an EMDRIA “Approved Consultant” in EMDR. Through his work with Trauma Recovery/EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (HAP), Bill is a facilitator for EMDR Basic Trainings and a trainer for the EMDR Recent Traumatic Episodes and Group Traumatic Episodes Protocols (R-TEP/G-TEP).
Bill holds a B. Mus. in Music Therapy and a M.A. in Counseling from The Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) and an M.A. in Liturgical Studies from the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN).

Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities:
EMDR Therapy Basic Consultation Group for EMDR Therapists who have attended Part I or Part II of basic training through Trauma Recovery/HAP or the EMDR Institute and are completing the basic training consultation requirement. New groups forming as interest arises.
EMDR Therapy Advanced Consultation Group for EMDR Therapists who have completed basic training and wish to work towards becoming an EMDR Certified Therapist through the EMDR International Association. This 5 session group is on third Wednesdays, 8:30 am – 10:30 am beginning on August, 16, 2017.
Advanced Consultation Group for Complex Trauma – This group is intended to assist EMDR therapists acquire greater effectiveness in treating complex trauma and dissociation. Usually meeting on the third Thursday of 10 consecutive months, the first session will be January, 18, 2018.
Working with Complex Trauma and Dissociation as an EMDR Therapist – Adult clients with a history of chronic or prolonged childhood abuse and/or neglect present significant challenges in treatment, particularly in utilizing the standard EMDR protocol. This presentation will integrate current relevant theories of complex trauma with practical interventions and resources for the EMDR therapist which are grounded in the AIP model. Bill is in the process of withdrawing from most insurance panels. If you wish to use your insurance, please verify with him if he is still an in-network provider with your plan before scheduling an appointment. Some aspects of your privacy may be compromised when utilizing insurance.

Many PPO plans which include “out of network” benefits may reimburse you for some of your counseling costs. Check to see if your plan includes these benefits and if a separate deductible is required.
Most clients prefer to pay directly for counseling services to protect their privacy and treatment options. Bill’s customary fee per standard 45-50 minute session is $120. Extended 90 minute EMDR sessions are $180. In addition to cash or check, all major credit cards are accepted.

Appointment availability varies weekly. Bill’s calendar is usually filled one to two weeks out.

Consent to Release or Share Information
If you are an existing client and have requested that information be shared with a third party on your behalf, you will be asked to complete the following form in the office. If you make the request between sessions, you can print out the form below and FAX it to Bill Brislin, LMHC @ (407) 282-0552. A copy should also be provided to the other person if they serve you in a professional capacity.
